In Windows Xp, when programs stop responding we are forced to [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[Delete] > End Process. This tweak lets Windows automatically shut down hung programs :

  • Open Registry Editor : Run > regedit.exe.
  • Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop.
  • Double click on string value AutoEndTasks and change its value to “1″.
  • We can also set the timeout by double clicking string value WaitToKillAppTimeout and change the time (in milliseconds) before Windows kills the task.
